A Virgin No More.

After nearly 15 seasons,
Breckenridge's Lake Chutes are one of
the last places in Summit County that
I had not skiied, with steeps in
excess of 50 degrees, stradled well
over 12,000 ft. atop Imperial Peak,
it just took me a little while to finally
get up there. Al-X had been here before
and led the way over the cornice
and down through boot deep powder,
very nice indeed.

A mini lungbuster hike from the lifttop
brought us to the top of the world
and the beginning of the chutes.
In went Al-X. From the belly of the beast.

A doctored image...Al-X in sepia. Hey, it's me.
Surveying Contest Bowl.
Then attacking it.

We had quite a few sweet powder
turns beginning in and around the
Horseshoe Bowl and T-bar as well.
Best day at Breck yet.

Out With the Old...

After 4 years of loyal service, I've
finally managed to destroy my ski's.
What an excellent excuse to get some
new boards.I totally scored on some
sweet-ass Volkl AC4 UNLIMITED skis.
Last years demos, barely skiied,
most excellent price.I could'nt wait
to try 'em out, so we checked out
Loveland Ski Area on Sunday afternoon.

Cracks forming all the way across, steel warped.
Oh yeaahhh...
I spotted a snow rabbit atop the divide.
6" of new snow at 12,000 feet at the
Continental Divide.Old school lifts, old school area,
not crowded, severely underrated.Loveland was alot of fun,
we had a great day, but what ski
day is'nt? Incidentally the new
sticks rip!

We're Dealing in Extremes Here...

Last week at this time
it was nearly zero degrees,
today, sunny and warm.
It sure feels nice,but it's
not very good for the
already thin snowpack.
It's suspected that
Breckenridge's moving of
the Ullrfest Parade up a
few weeks may have
pissed Ullr off,causing
him to slight us on snow.
WE'RE SORRY MR.ULLR
PLEASE SEND SOME SNOW!

There's no such thing
as global warming.Dirt patches are common
here at Copper in February.Al-X gettin' nuts again
in Patrol Chute.

I brought the "good" camera today.

Al-X shot a couple of me in Spaulding Bowl.

Western Union and Jaques Peak.

Groovy clouds hover over the peaks.

Majesty. Coppers finest four legged patroller.
The staff was eager to please.
Al-X crushing Larry's rock. Or would Larry's Rock crush Al-X. The...
Agony...of... defeat.

Great day as always...

The Thaw...

Thankfully it's finally warm

and beautiful out this week...

so far that is.

Me 'n Shust 'n Crisp were

at Breck and went to

Peak 10's south side, because

Crisp just leaving the ground

as he launches the Whales Tail

for about 3 or 400 feet of air.

Today was pretty sweet,

me thinks we might be back

at Copper on Wednesday.

Lets hear some comments

out there, not too lewd .

Frozen Warriors

Yup, 5 degrees at
Breckenridge today,
surely we're nuckin' futs.
Al-X,Crisp, and Hippie
braved the icy chill
and potential frostbite
with me, all for 6"
of new snow.It was
okay,skiied off a
bit however.About
an hour and a half
was all we could take.
The tip of Al-X's
nose was beginning to
turn white,(1st sign of
frostbite.)time to go.

Here's a stock tip...

buy many shares from those

companies that make hand

and toe warmers.No joke.

Crisp skis on by Al-X
Nice n' steep on Mine Shaft.
(Hippie way down there)
I'm done till next week,
warmer temps are reportedly
on the way, that would be swell.
