After nearly 15 seasons,
Breckenridge's Lake Chutes are one of
the last places in Summit County that
I had not skiied, with steeps in
excess of 50 degrees, stradled well
over 12,000 ft. atop Imperial Peak,
it just took me a little while to finally
get up there. Al-X had been here before
and led the way over the cornice
and down through boot deep powder,
very nice indeed.
A mini lungbuster hike from the lifttopbrought us to the top of the world
and the beginning of the chutes.
