Mt. Werner Revisited

Mt. Werner is the base mountain of Steamboat Ski Resort,

and where I was lucky enough to work at last night,

and ski at today, Wednesday.

With the guidance of Dave, Larry, and Mike

from Echo Tours, the best collegiate ski

tour company this side of the Ol' Miss.

Thanks again to Echo Tours for making

Rollin' w/ Pokey Joe.

Man, I just could'nt get it in gear today.
We finally did make it to Winter Park,
Mary Jane actually, but missed a
rendez-vous with Gerritt the Red
because of my slow ass. It was COLD,
and my ankle hurts...WAAAAAAHHH. M.G. patiently handles repeated tardiness,
otherwise known as retardiness.

This run should be called "Hazardous".
This is a snow cat, could there be such a thing

as snow catnip? Or am I just retardy.

More to come this week, and a likely

journey back to the Boat next week!

This is what I'm talkin' bout.

Happy Days!!! The Summit finally
got some snow, a lot at that (feets
of it I tell ya!). Not much A.S.C.
representation today at Copper,
just Me, Wulf Solo.

Holy Crap an open bump run,
the aptly named "Too Much".
As my 1st run , this whooped my ass.

Chairway to the Sun (neato clouds).

Excellent idea, less wasted trailmaps littering the runs.

Yes, freshies were achieved today.

A failed attempt at avalanche control.

Honey, I burned the snow.

Sprechen zie Legend.

As of Monday night, another storm is

bearing down on us, tommorrow,

we be off to Winter Park, please check

back for the thrilling details.

Dio Dos.

I think that means Day 2, anyway
here it is nearly December, yet Copper
is barely open. Me n' Mean Gene felt
like makin' turns nonetheless.
We rolled into the lot at 1:00 or so,
and took 5 or 6 runs, nice day for what it was.
An afternoon squall ?!
Hey look... Mean Gene.
Copper's Speed/Safety patrol,
slow down, they may be armed.

Nope, no squall, only man-made.
Frank "the Legend", spotted again, it's not to hard

when so few runs are open.

Please send any extra snow to Colorado Ski Country USA

all donations are greatly appreciated.

Hey........ we're back. It was a gorgeous day
to make a solo venture to Copper to kick off the
'07-'08 ski season. The Afternoon Ski Club will
be haunting Copper and Mary Jane mostly this season
.......mostly.

Fire... Fire on the Mountain.
But not much snow on the mountain.
Todays conditions: Packed powder and mud.
The white ribbon of death.
YESSSS!!.. Frank the Legend! First day even!
Right next to me, stink eyein' me.

And finally from our "Brewster you're sooo cool."dept.

Please don't ever be "this" guy.

It would however be okay to be "that" girl.

Bye, come back, SkiWulf.

Fin.

Well I really do think that this
is about it for the season, much has
closed and we're thinking summer now.
Al-X and I put the wraps on the season
at The Basin, typical of spring weather,
it was sunny and clear when we started
up the mountain. Of course grey clouds
appeared out of nowhere so we booked,
only to see the sun again as we left.
45 days this season.

04 days, oops 40 days for Al-X.
Beautiful on the way up.Al-X gettin' nuts once again.
AAHHH, wind and snow, how dreary. Beautiful again just in time to go.
Thanks to any of our visitors, I may post some
summer off season stuff periodically, keep checking
Thanks to all of the characters who have joined
us this season. Viva la Afternoon Ski Club!

38/44

Hey, what's happenin'.
It's Wednesday, and the A.S.C. was
a one man operation, many have fleed
the country, many just lost their
heart... and soul. May Ullr have mercy
on them and their quittin' ways.
Well I managed to enjoy the 7" of new snow
it may things sticky and slow, but still
not bad at all. Todays pics are kinda boring,
sorry. East wall fresh S's
Upper Rock Garden
Sweet little chute.
Lookin' down the Cornice Run (my last of the day).
Thanks for looking, probably at least
one more post should be forthcoming.

It's 4/20 Bro!

What a day for "spacin' at the Basin."
Many people agreed as lots of
Spacers converged on A-Basin,
along with Me, B.o.B., and The Shust,
Towlie the pot smokin' towel was even there.
I keep saying this is my last day of the
season, but with the great conditions,
more days may still lie ahead.Besides
43 does seem like a good number
to end on.So we may not be done yet.Just a little crowded, it took some
creativity to make a parking spot.

The scene was happenin' on the beach."wanna get high and make some turns?"Representing the colors, don't forget
your maroon and orange today.Wow look at my HUGE air! This sucka makes the "walk of shame"
note how far up the ski is, it stuck
straight up in the snow when he wrecked.Shust n' B.o.B.Ever see one of these before?
That makes two of us.Our last run was a top to bottom
non-stop run down the heart of Pali. Check out this snow wall.
Here's some perspective on how
big this wall is.
If this was the last post of the season,
thank you for visiting, however I'm pretty
sure it won't be the last so check back
next week if ya like.

Hokie Nation, Represent.

Hey now. The Shust, Tewks, and me
were hangin' at the Basin today,
partly sunny conditions today
made the skiing halfway decent,
The Enduro,(an all day endurance race)
was taking place today, so we
tried to steer clear of their madness.
We stuck to the usual Pali routes,
and nabbed some nice pics of
these VT grads on the steep and
rocky section known as the waterfall.Shust jumps in.
...and tears it up.
Mean Gene, the snow wreckin' machine.
We may be back on Friday, 4/20
to The Basin, for what could be the LAST
day of the season, hope you'll come 'round
for our final post of the season.
