D5000!!!!

Well I traded in my old camera
for a new "big gun".
Ladies and Gentlemen...
the Nikon D5000 is on the mountain!
With a sweet 70-300 VR/ED zoom
I took a lot of shots on this
gorgeous day at a-Basin.
B.O.B. n' Gene ridin' the Pali Lift.
Glen works it.
Half moon over the Divide.
Stacked chairs.
The East Wall got some new snow this past
weekend but much of it slid off today.
Snow flow.
Yet another big slide.
Blowing snow on North Pole.
Flight for Life Fly-By.
Sixteenth day done.

Plain Ol' Thursday

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday,
the day before, Fat Tuesday,
Monday was Presidents Day,
and Sunday, V.D., or Valentines Day.
It was nice to enjoy a plain old
Thursday at Arapahoe Basin.
It even started to snow, laying a few inches
of freshness this afternoon.
...And B.O.B. was there.
...And so was Chris.
Snow breaks temporarily, Pali face finally
open, partially, temporarily.
Fair warning suckas.
Hey Dukie!
XV.
I realized the other day that I have spent around
a month or more of my life sitting on one of these
chairs, I'll take it over traffic any day.
Go Nino, Go!

Al-X Returns!

The Afternoon Ski Club's favorite son,
Al-X rejoined the group today,
and brought along a few friends...
...To beautiful sunny Loveland Ski Area.
From atop the highest lift in North America.
"I'm cold."
Chris, Alex, Jake, & TJ strike a pose on the Continental Divide.
Al-X and Chris and some tracks in back.
Old schoolish.
The 14th post of Season 18.0
...Aaaand back home we go.
Huge thanks, and congratulations
to Alex and Ashley on their latest addition
"Braxton" I can't wait to ski with him!
In a couple of years that is.

The Gend

What a beautiful day today
as the A.S.C. squad of myself, Glen,
and The Shust spent a few hours
under the high altitude sunshine
at a sparsely populated A-Basin.
"The Legend" wouldn't quite fit in the camera eye.
Gene n' Shust riding the Pali.
We made our way through a rocky
13 cornices .
Align Center
Cold shadows.
Only my 13th visit this season,
that's kinda shameful for early
February. We're counting on
"El Nino" snows to bail us
out soon.
"Let's Go Nino!"
