Copper Mountain!

Back to Copper, Mean Gene

and I went this Thursday afternoon,

and a beautiful day it 'twas

Fresh from his far eastern tour, MG

barely misses a beat.

What a coincidence, that's my middle name.

Mean Gene narrowly slinks out

of this treacherous chute in Copper Bowl.

I smell a road trip comin'

so come on back good buddies.

Now With Video!

We (me and Al-X) must have been

crazy for going to Copper this afternoon,

but if we don't suck it up and get out even

on the crappy days we're nothing but

lousy tourists then are'nt we, yeah.

We arrived to a balmy 9 degrees of

winter warmth at the lot, with temps

at the mountaintop below zero. Being the

toughguys we are, we squeezed in about

5 runs before bailing back to the double digit

climate from which we started.

Wow blogger now features video,

too bad I just have about 15 seconds of

soundless low res vid to work with.

Anyway here I am on Slipnot at the

Enchanted Forest shot by Al-X

That all for now.

Well Blow Me Down.

The winds were just starting
to settle in when I arrived at Mary Jane
at about 1:30 today. It was beautiful
so far as the day went. As I started up the
mountain, the approaching winds started
to cause lift closings from the top,
then to the bottom because of 50+ mph winds,
shutting down much of the mountain.
I managed to sneak a few runs in before
bailing, the winds are the beginnings
of a front bringing more snow, the next post
should be very white...let's hope.
My long shadow.
Super gusts knocking snow loose
from the trees and a little help from
photoshop helped create this image.

New Year... more snow.

We welcomed in '08 with a trip to Copper
featuring me and new papa B.O.B. At 1:00pm
when we showed up the sun disappeared and
flattened the light a bit, but it is nice to see the
mountain mostly open and with some fresh snow.Spalding Bowl...open for business.Crosscut into Reso, lotsa snow, no people.B.O.Bee's in the T.R.ee's
of Enchanted Forest.

Frank shredding the B-lift base area.

We definately skiied some super fresh lines

today, and it seems the season is back on track

as more snow keeps coming.
