38/44

Hey, what's happenin'.
It's Wednesday, and the A.S.C. was
a one man operation, many have fleed
the country, many just lost their
heart... and soul. May Ullr have mercy
on them and their quittin' ways.
Well I managed to enjoy the 7" of new snow
it may things sticky and slow, but still
not bad at all. Todays pics are kinda boring,
sorry. East wall fresh S's
Upper Rock Garden
Sweet little chute.
Lookin' down the Cornice Run (my last of the day).
Thanks for looking, probably at least
one more post should be forthcoming.

It's 4/20 Bro!

What a day for "spacin' at the Basin."
Many people agreed as lots of
Spacers converged on A-Basin,
along with Me, B.o.B., and The Shust,
Towlie the pot smokin' towel was even there.
I keep saying this is my last day of the
season, but with the great conditions,
more days may still lie ahead.Besides
43 does seem like a good number
to end on.So we may not be done yet.Just a little crowded, it took some
creativity to make a parking spot.

The scene was happenin' on the beach."wanna get high and make some turns?"Representing the colors, don't forget
your maroon and orange today.Wow look at my HUGE air! This sucka makes the "walk of shame"
note how far up the ski is, it stuck
straight up in the snow when he wrecked.Shust n' B.o.B.Ever see one of these before?
That makes two of us.Our last run was a top to bottom
non-stop run down the heart of Pali. Check out this snow wall.
Here's some perspective on how
big this wall is.
If this was the last post of the season,
thank you for visiting, however I'm pretty
sure it won't be the last so check back
next week if ya like.

Hokie Nation, Represent.

Hey now. The Shust, Tewks, and me
were hangin' at the Basin today,
partly sunny conditions today
made the skiing halfway decent,
The Enduro,(an all day endurance race)
was taking place today, so we
tried to steer clear of their madness.
We stuck to the usual Pali routes,
and nabbed some nice pics of
these VT grads on the steep and
rocky section known as the waterfall.Shust jumps in.
...and tears it up.
Mean Gene, the snow wreckin' machine.
We may be back on Friday, 4/20
to The Basin, for what could be the LAST
day of the season, hope you'll come 'round
for our final post of the season.

Friday the 13th..."The Breckening"

Today was the 13th of Friday indeed,
surprisingly the only real bad luck
so far was that the "BIG" dump that
was supposed to paralyze the city and
cream the mountains was merely a myth
and the foot or more of snow forecasted
overnite for Friday was a mere 4 or 5".
It was still very nice on top of Breckenridge
this afternoon.B.o.B., Tewks, Al-X, the Shust,
& Me went to the top of Imperial to
introduce some 1st timers to the
Lake Chutes, Peak 7 as well. It was
very sweet out there. The "big storm" clearing off of Peak 7
The A.S.C. atop the Lake Chutes.
Air Tewker.
Somebody tell this guy it's the A.S.C.,
not the A.S.B.C! Al-X strays from
the "dark side."

What a weinee.

Party at the Basin next week,

who'll be there, what madness will

transpire, check back to see.

It's Easter, Measter.

Roachie Roach called early
today, Easter Sunday to say that
the conditions up the way were
very nice, and not very crowded
more importantly. Al-X drove us
to The Basin, where at 1:45 when
we arrived, and it was still dumping.
That certainly did'nt stop any of the
beachfront bar-b-que's from raging.
The alleys off of Pali provided
some shelter and better visibility.
But those steep bumps, or ledges
more so, kicked my ass. After a few
runs, the clouds gave way to blues skies.
On the way back, Al-X decided to
ski down Loveland Pass's east side
with Mr.Kody on his tail. I picked
them up down the road, Mr.Kody
was very worked up about the
whole thing.It was an altogether
excellent Easter. I hope that
everyone had a good one too.

I caught up with patroller Pete R. Cottontailhop turnin'

down thebunny trail.A high altitude hare representin' Al-X's launching rock. What the hell?
Dog party. Is orange an Easter color? Eastern Continental Divide.
Mr Kody bounding alongside Al-X.Happy dog.
Today was the 40th day of the season,
41 should come sometime this week
please visit again to check it.

The Al-X Show.

What a bizarre day, after scraping
a half inch of ice off of the car,
we trekked up the the hill into
a frozen fog with the temp at about
26 degrees. The higher we got into
the hills, the more the temp rose,
soon the fog burned away and it
was mostly sunny and 53 degrees
in Summit County. Usually the
opposite occurs, leaving the warm,
sunny city only to reach the colder,
cloudy climes of the mountains.
This was a welcome change. Al-X
and I decided to use the last of
our Copper 4 pass today, as this
will be our last opportunity
to enjoy the mountain while it's
still nearly 100% open, Al-X put
on a bit of an air show today, nearly
200 shots were taken on this Good Friday,
it was hard to choose the best, enjoy. The New London Expressway. Dissapating Fog.

(to the tune of Otis Reddings
"Down on the Boardwalk")
Out on the Boardwalk,
down by the trees,
on a blanket of snow baby,
with my phat skis.

Be kind, hug a tree.

It's a bird...

Thanks Mr. Ski Patrol Guy for snapping
this fine group photo of the V.L.A.S.C.
( very late afternoon ski club)

We call this trick, "The Dumper"

There I go again.

It's a plane...

Oh... it's me again.

It's Al-X ...showing off again.

Welcome back to Dreerydom.

It really was exactly as we left the city,
even a bit colder when we returned later
that day. I thought the season might
be done earlier this week, but we managed
to squeak out another good (fri)day.
Thanks Copper for another GREAT season!
We've still got some other places to go
though, so please come back to see.

Blah...

I had to title today's post
that way because I did'nt
know how to spell that
sound you make with your
tongue and lips that sounds
like a fart... so "blah" it was.
That was how today(Wednesday)
was, on my solo adventure to
The Basin, I missed a beautiful
day yesterday, so of course
when I did make it today, the
conditions generally sucked again
(does this guy ever stop bitchin?).Fresh goat eggs.
Mr. Salty himself.
This is "flat" light, hard to see huh?
Oh look, some sun, waayyy over there.
What, no welcome sign?
I sure hope that we manage to get
another GOOD ski day before it's
all over, this season is surely
melting away...quickly.
