Need Snow...Please Send!

Hey-o, We pushed the Afternoon Ski Club concept to the limits today (Friday). We picked up the Shust on the way to Hippie and The Scotsmans lair near Breck, I guess we were runnin' kinda late, oh well. Tragically I forgot my camera today, so no pics, conditions were'nt that good but it was mild and beautiful though. Me and Mean Gene did the Basin on Thursday here's some of those shots.

Wicked clouds enveloped Buffalo Mtn. and the Gore Range behind Frisco.

This may be the last post for '06, maybe not, I'll be checking to see how crowded the ski areas get next week, stop back if it's not too much trouble. Pray or dance for snow we could use it. Thanks for lookin' SkiWulfeeWulf.

All Aboard!

It's Tuesday and we've rolled up north to Steamboat for some skiin' as well as a little nightlife, slopeside style.Of course we did'nt hit the hill until the afternoon taking advantage of half day rates as well as a kickass lunch in town at Winona's, 2 for 1 lunches even! Wow.
'Twas snowy ,foggy, and a crisp 20 something degrees with 7" of fresh stuff.

Inferno!

Today, while the meek fell to the wayside, the strong rose to the challenge. Actually it was more like the conditions weren't that great so most people bagged it today. Hippie and I sucked it up and went up to Breck on this Monday. With few precious days before the Christmas holiday hoardes invade, we're trying to get in some days before our break from the madness.

"LOBO" es "WULF" en ingles
We stuck to the E chair mostly, Inferno(center of pic) was pretty sweet, there was actually some powder and no ice, but a few rocks to make things interesting.
Hippie on Inferno
And me too.
We've got a posse heading out to Steamboat on Tuesday, so come back to see what transpires.... this should be good. SkierWulfer

Seven

Greetings, welcome to day 7 of the season. It's Friday and B.o.B., B. Boxapizza, Hippie, and the Whip checked out Peak 8 at Breckenridge, it was a beautiful day.

Panorama from the top of Breck's new Imperial chair. It's around 12,000 ft. above sea level, what a view.
The crew snakes it's way through Psycopath Gully, it was a little icy, but nice.
HIPPIE!

More next week, c'mon back, so long and thanks for all the fish.

...I looked up and saw only blue.

We were blessed with one of those sunny cloudless bluebird afternoons, this day it was at the Basin with The Shust and Al-X.

The boys surveying the West Wall.

Above I'm bumpin' on Exhibition. And Al-X leaping from Cornice Run.

Mr. Kody chillin' at the Pali.

B.O.B. said he would drive to Breck for Peak 8's opening, I think the Scottish Whip is goin' too. I should be there so come on back later and check it out. S.W.

The Convergence

Wow, unbelievable, never in my many ski seasons have I skied with so many friends. Myself, B.O.B.,& Tewker travelled to Breck and met up with The Shust, Bobby Boxapizza, B.P.H., DJ Crisp, The Scottish Whip, and Tiff too.Took some turns with Crisps roomies and even the legendary Vinnie Ortega! Wow indeed.

I saw some birds, and a weasel too...

Despite the best efforts of Brecks sometimes brutal nightlife, Tiff rose up from her porcelain master, and trooped out there to join us.
I had not once seen an actual avalanche slide occur before, until today, I saw THREE of them! Two here on Peak 8, the other at the Lake Chutes, pretty cool.
Mean Gene the Tewkin' machine.
B. Boxapizza on tree detail
Mista Shusta on the bumpity bumps.

Crispy Crew.
Shot o' the Day, niiice Shust.
Lot's of good times today, I'll Be back later this week, c'mon back.

Sweet Copper

Ah Copper Mountain, it's like comin' home. The last storm brought 6'' of freshness, it nearly made us forget about the 7 degree temperature.

I spotted Frank the Legend for the first time this season(above)Me and Al-X on our second run, kinda so so...
Then a friendly ski patroller invited us into the Enchanted Forest.

I clipped this big rock, sending me flying, minus a ski, which Al-X recovered for me. Thanks dude.

Here's a series with Al-X rippin' some pow through the trees in the Enchanted Forest.

Hey it's me... nice form dork.

This is what a lake looks like as it's freezing over,in this Lake Dillon panorama.

It was a good week, and will only get better, come on back.

Cold Wind a Blowin'

It's here! The Shust and I got to ski what was the leading edge of a big storm. We went back to Breck today, and it was sooo much better than yesterday.I got my first quality freshies of the season on multiple runs. Very few other souls were out there making it even better. The drive back was awful, a bad accident slowed things up quite a bit. Hopefully we can get back tommorrow so check back.

Signing out...S.Wulf

Lemonade.

Todays conditions it seemed, were like lemons... Breck's ski runs had taken some serious punishment over the weekend. With no new snow, visible and invisible hazards(rocks and ice), mostly flat light, and oh that ol' Breck wind to chill us, we were forced to make lemonade... pretty tart, but lemonade no less. We had a good crew, The Shust, B.P.H. (Big Perm Hippie), & DJ Crisp hooked up with Steps and some friends for some fast big carvin' runs and a couple of decent bump runs too. A winter storm is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, hopefully it'll smack the Summit right in the mouth. Check back later to see if it was a hit or miss.
